Frequently Asked Questions
The time it will take to complete a job depends on the scope of work. A spot repair may take a couple of hours. A full line replacement will take the better part of a day. A very complicated job may take two days. However, rest assured most jobs are completed same day. A second day may be reserved for asphalt, concrete and general clean-up.
Based on the information on a report, Sewer Lines Only can generally get you a ballpark idea of the cost to repair the line. However, there are other factors that will affect the pricing that Sewer Lines Only will take into consideration such as: landscaping, underground utilities, overhead power lines, limited access, concrete or asphalt work, sidewalk removal, etc. Sewer Lines Only provides free estimates in order to get you an accurate estimate for repair. Also, we are happy to provide free second opinions.
If your water line is being replaced, we will turn off your water during the repair. If your sewer line is being replaced, we generally don’t turn off your water. We just ask that you not use it while our crews are working. If your repair lasts more than one day, we will install a temporary sewer line so that you can use your services over night.
Yes, Sewer Lines Only is fully licensed, insured and bonded. We will always pull applicable permits and/or set inspections.
Every job is different and our teams will work diligently to preserve your landscaping the best we can. When our estimators are out doing your estimate they will take into consideration the landscaping including, but not limited to: excavating near trees, removing concrete, tunneling under sidewalks, replacing grass, potentially needing to remove bushes, cut sprinklers, fence removal, etc. Any exclusions will be mentioned in the estimate. Our goal is to be as transparent as possible so that you know exactly what to expect.
During excavation, we remove and displace the naturally-compacted dirt to access your sewer/water line. After properly bedding your line to your local municipal code standards, we will refill our trench, and re-compact the dirt to at least 95% of the soil’s original bearing capacity.
However, our compaction cannot match the natural settling of dirt that was there previous to our excavation. To mitigate this, a small mound may be present in our trench to allow for natural settling. This is completely normal and necessary after any excavation. Your trench should be at the same level as the rest of your yard within 2-6 months, depending on your existing soil.
We use materials that meet or exceed industry standards. For sewer lines, we use Schedule40 or SDR35 PVC depending on the requirement in the municipality. For lines that are pipe burst, it is HDPE. Junction points are often vulnerable so we use Strongback Ferncos. If the wrong material is used you will likely see problems again.
Yes, we are licensed and in good standing with the CO Secretary of State. We are also licensed in every municipality in and around Denver Metro.
Yes, and it is very important that whomever you hire has the proper insurance! Sewer line repairs can be very dangerous with dirt cave-ins, excavators at work and various other hazardous working environments. Some companies will be under-covered or not insured at all because it is such a significant expense for a company. Hiring someone without the proper insurance puts you, the homeowner, at risk of having unwanted liability. Sewer Lines Only has general liability insurance, workman’s comp insurance and vehicle insurance.
Once scheduled, Sewer Lines Only will take care of everything, including calling for 811 to mark any underground utilities.
